Instructions decoction and cold brew


Decoction is mostly made of solid parts of plants like; bark, root, rhizomes (rootstocks) or (dried) berries.

Instruction for decoction

Bring the herbs to a boil according to the indicated amount of water. Then lower the heat and let it shimmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and strain the herbs.

Cold brew:

Cold brew is mainly made of plants that lose their strength from heating or with plants that release their pungent substances from heating (boiling).

Instruction for cold brew: 

Use room temperature water and let the herbs drew for at least 7 until 12 hours. 

Herbs measurements per scoop:

  • 1 teaspoon is 1,5 till 2 grams
  • 1 dessert-spoon is 2,5 till 3 grams
  • 1 tablespoon is circa 5 grams
